When Hurricane Harvey hit Houston, TX, many were advised to leave the area as soon as possible and seek shelter and safety anywhere they could. However, the hurricane created a few more problems for one couple staying at the Holiday Inn Express Times Square South. Erick Lorenzana, General Manager at the property explains:

"One of our guests, Susan P., was stranded in NYC and had to postpone her wedding. She and her fiancé, Dan Z., were stuck in NYC due to Hurricane Harvey. An article was written about their postponed wedding in the Houston Chronicle (click here to read more). Our entire hotel staff wanted to make their hotel stay a special one given their unique and unfortunate circumstance. So the front office made them a nice card, we bought a few roses to make a trail of petals, one of the housekeepers made a couple of swans out of towels, and we went next door to McGettigans restaurant to ask for complimentary dinner vouchers which they were willing to provide. It ended up being a very special stay in which they couldn’t thank us enough for the special treatment they received."
